"Of all the spiritual disciplines prayer is the most central because it ushers us into perpetual communion with the Father." – Richard Foster in "Celebration of Discipline".

Jesus was asked by his disciples about how they should pray, and after giving some excellent advice, he then shared with them this model prayer –

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.'"
